Friday, May 29, 2009Posted by The Princess... A Visit to the Zoo! BEWARE! LONG POST AHEAD! PLEASE ALLOW TIME FOR THE PHOTOS TO LOAD! Went to the Zoo on last Saturday. It's a torture to wake up early in the morning sia. But thank God, it was sunny outside! Wat a nice weather~ A good start for our plan to the zoo! Haha~ The other time when we planned to go, it rained ^o^ I woke up earlier than koala as I predict I would need more time than him to prepare :p But tat koala was sleeping until so shuang!! Tried to wake him up for so many times lo. Kept telling me '5 more mins' *roar* Given him so many 5 mins liao still dun wanna wake up! So I pretended to be angry & said I dun wanna go liao :p Keke~ Well, at least it made him jump up from the bed immediately. Heehee~ Went to eat Mac breakfast before going to Zoo. I was soooo hungry~ The breakfast of the month is~~~~~ Hotcakes with Sausage meal! Keke~ suddenly found myself addicted to tat. Headed to the bus interchange after breakfast. The berth for bus no. 138 was right in front of us & we din noticed it. So ya, we walked to the other side of the interchange instead. 2 ben dan were walking here n dere looking for tat berth. LOL~ I was sooooo happy! I noe I noe, u muz b saying wat's so happy abt going to zoo. Keke~ I was happy becos I could get to spend a day out with koala! Juz the 2 of us (-^_^-) At last, reached our destination! Koala was enquiring abt the timing for boat ride (it's a new ride tat the Zoo had recently). So wat am I doing? Cam-whoring of cos! Haha~
We bought the tix which consisted of the admission (of cos la!), tram ride n boat ride. Walked to the Otters area. They were soooo cute~ Dere were abt 8 of them. But they were a little noisy though. Haha!  Is he (or she?) looking at my camera? Keke~Decided to go to the other side to take a better view of them. Well, tat's oni 1 of the reasons. The other reason is...I saw a mini komodo beside me!!! *Kowaii~~~* Which made me decide to 'run for my life' LOL!
In order not to miss the animal show, we decided to take the tram ride, to the Splash Amphitheatre for the Splash Safari show. The show featured the Jackass Penguins, California Sea Lion, Caribbean Manatees and the Pelicans.   The pelican & the penguins. (Ya, I know it's difficult to c the penguins from the photo.)
The Caribbean Manatees. They were real huge!  Philip the Sea Lion! He loved compliments. Keke~The trainer kept asking Philip (sea lion) to splash water! Haha~ Those sitting in the front rows were wet! Philip was really clever & cute! Dere were some interactions between the kids & Philip too. They got to shake hand with him & they oso got a surprise from Philip - a KISS!   Next the speaker got 2 visitors to play a game with Philip. Philip easily caught the frisbee thrown by the lady, as she was standing quite near. However, the guy was requested to go right to the back of the theatre to throw the frisbee! Tat's very far wor~   Uh oh! Philip din managed to catch the frisbee thrown by the guy. The speaker asked the audience wat shall we do wif him. Keke~ Everyone said the same thing - throw him in the water! LOL! He was stunned, esp when the speaker told him to take off his top. & he was thrown into the water! Keke, okie I lied abt him being thrown into the water. He was asked to throw the frisbee at where the lady had thrown instead. Of cos, Philip managed to catch it tis time! Then we watch Philip balancing with a ball on its nose, how fast he could swim & how high he could jump.
Next we went to watch the Elephants show. I liked the part whereby the elephants were asked to lie down but one of them dun wan to. The trainers were coaxing her, persuading her to lie down. When one of the trainer wanna bribe her wif a fruit, one elephant grabbed his leg with its trunk & snatched the fruit away. Keke! The trainer went to take another fruit but was snatched by another elephant again!
The elephant at the back was the one which refused to lie down. & the fruits snatchers were the 2 in front!
 The kangaroo's feet were big~~~  We had a hard time looking for the White Tigers exhibit, even wif the map! Haha~ We kept taking the tram ride & stopping at stops tat we dun wan to. Lost count of how times we took the tram rides liao.  At last, found the White Tigers exhibit! Dere were 3 white tigers. & out of the 3, 2 were sleeping! -_- The oni awake one was doing its catwalk! Actually it's making me feel dizzy wif its walking @_@  It was walking the same route for dunno how many times sia!  & it decided to change its route.
We then visited the Polar Bear exhibit.
Was focusing so much on the polar bear outside tat I din notice dere's one inside! Can you c it? It's under the stone structure. After finding a good spot, the sky was even darker! Oh my god~ & it really rained!!! Sianz la! Then came the announcement. The show was cancelled! Everyone was boo-ing lo. Ya we eventually din get to watch tis show as it was the last show of the day ^o^ Since it was raining, we could not go anywhere either. & so we rested dere instead (it's a sheltered amphitheatre). Y did they cancelled the show when the whole amphitheatre is sheltered!!

Waited for the rain to become lighter then we continued visiting other animals exhibits. & we saw Lion King's best fren - Timon! LOL~
 He's happy to be able to take a pic wif the giraffes but the giraffes were not facing the camera! We went to visit the Cat Country next. It was still drizzling. The lions were hiding in their 'caves' & they looked so restless.  The other members of the Cat Country were restless too. They were lying at one corner. All we could c was their backs oni. Sianz~ We left the Cat Country & continued exploring. We saw giant tortoises!! It was very very very big!!!!  We oso visited the Reptile exhibit which I really really really hate! I dun like reptiles!! *roar* On our way to taking the boat ride, we saw orang utans. They were having phototaking session.  The trainer was giving fruits to the orang utans.

Me and Koala~ & then my camera died on me! *roar* Cannot take photo anymore!! Lucky we were already going back soon. We took the boat ride back to the main entrance. During the ride, the staff was showing us the Reptile skins. Eeeeks~~ I'm not interested in tat & so I was looking at the scenary & enjoying the breeze! Haha! Was so happy to b able to spend a day wif koala!
